Xarissa Holdaway works at the intersection of journalism and technology. She was most recently the Deputy Editor for Digital at "Charlie Rose," where she directed the redesign of charlierose.com, including the digitization and indexing of the show's entire 26-year video archive and the creation of a new visual identity. She is also a digital strategist and producer. At The Chronicle of Higher Education, she led daily publishing and promotion for the site, including social media, mobile, the home page, graphics and multimedia. She instituted analytics reporting in the newsroom, and acted as product owner for new platform launches. She created an online journal on energy and environment for National Wildlife Federation, and has consulted on digital strategy for multiple private clients.
Xarissa has a strong editorial sensibility. She has directed reporters on breaking news and beat coverage, and her own writing advances conversations about topics of national importance. Her freelance work has appeared in The Awl, Al Jazeera America, The New Inquiry, Religion & Politics, Religion Dispatches, The Billfold, and others.
